Why Sombra Shades Chose Boise Blinds
Hunter Douglas and Lutron make exceptional products — and we're proud to carry both. But many homeowners tell us the same thing: "I want motorized shades, but the price is hard to justify."
Sombra Shades was looking for a partner in the Boise market — a dealer with the experience, installation quality, and reputation to represent their brand the right way. They chose Boise Blinds. Sombra delivers premium motorization, configuration-specific control options, and a wide selection of fabrics at an exceptional value, and we're proud to be their exclusive Idaho partner.
Because Sombra Shades is available exclusively through Boise Blinds in Idaho, you get something rare: a premium product backed by local support and local accountability. When you have a question or need service, you're calling us — not a national 800 number.
vs. Hunter Douglas
Comparable motorization at a lower price point. Hunter Douglas excels in fabric variety and the PowerView ecosystem; Sombra Shades wins on value.
vs. Lutron
Lutron Palladiom is the pinnacle of luxury motorization. Sombra Shades offers quality motorization at a more accessible investment.
vs. Big Box
Big box motorized shades lack custom sizing, professional installation, and any meaningful warranty. Sombra Shades are custom-built to measure.
Boise Blinds Exclusive Warranty
The Boise Blinds Exclusive Warranty provides 5 years of coverage on Sombra motors and 10 years of coverage on Sombra fabrics, backed by Boise Blinds and the manufacturer.
Motorization Standard, Not Optional
Every Sombra Shade comes motorized. Choose the rechargeable RF Motor or RF & Zigbee Motor that fits your shade and setup.
Controls Chosen for Your Setup
Every motorized Sombra Shade includes remote control. Smart-home compatibility depends on the selected motor and any required hub or bridge.
Seven Styles, Hundreds of Fabrics
Roller, duo, zebra, Roman, honeycomb cellular, day/night, and woven wood — each available in light filtering, room darkening, and blackout options across a wide range of textures and colors.
Exclusive to Boise Blinds in Idaho
Sombra Shades chose Boise Blinds as their exclusive Idaho partner. You won't find Sombra anywhere else in the Treasure Valley — and that means dedicated local support from consultation through installation.
Seven Styles. One Exclusive Partner.
From sleek roller shades to natural woven woods, every Sombra style is available motorized with remote control and a choice of RF Motor or RF & Zigbee Motor — installed by Boise Blinds, Idaho's exclusive Sombra dealer.
Roller Shades
Sombra's motorized roller shades deliver sleek, modern style with precision light control. Choose from solar screen (1%, 3%, 5% openness), light filtering, or blackout fabrics. The clean roll-up mechanism disappears into the cassette headrail for a minimal, architectural look.
Duo Roller Shades
The Duo system combines a blackout shade and a sheer solar screen on a single dual-roller headrail. Lower the blackout for full privacy, raise it to reveal the sheer layer for softened views, or stack both for a clear window. Maximum flexibility in a single elegant package.
Zebra Shades
Alternating sheer and solid horizontal bands give you seamless control between open views and total privacy. Align the bands for full transparency, offset them for room darkening. Available in the Eloise, Ingrid, and Astrid fabric collections with a wide range of color options.
Roman Shades
Sombra's waterfall-style Roman shades blend timeless elegance with practical motorization. Premium fabrics fold neatly as the shade raises, creating beautiful horizontal pleats. Available in blackout and light filtering opacities across the Clio, Iris, and Astraea fabric collections.
Honeycomb Cellular Shades
Honeycomb construction traps air in insulating pockets, reducing heat transfer and lowering energy costs year-round. Sombra's Nowa cellular shades are available in single and double cell configurations, with sheer, light filtering, and blackout opacities. Built-in Li-ion battery or external battery wand options.
Day Night Shade
The Sombra Day Night Shade combines a light-filtering honeycomb layer and a blackout honeycomb layer in a single shade. Control each layer independently — raise the blackout layer during the day for soft, diffused light, and lower it at night for complete privacy and total darkness. Also available in Top-Down Bottom-Up (TDBU) configuration for maximum versatility.
Woven Wood Shades
Handcrafted from renewable natural materials — bamboo, jute, reeds, and grasses — Sombra's woven wood shades bring organic warmth and texture to any room. Each shade is unique. Available in Roman-style folds with light filtering or room darkening liner options for privacy.
