Honeycomb Shades
Honeycomb engineering meets motorized convenience. Trap air in precision-formed cells to insulate your home while controlling light, privacy, and sound with an included remote.
Sombra Honeycomb Shades are typically closer to one year between charges.
Honeycomb shades do not carry the up-to-three-years estimate.
*Typical Honeycomb estimate assumes one up and one down per day. Actual time between charges depends on shade size, use, and whether the battery was fully charged.
Single Cell vs. Double Cell
More cells mean more trapped air, more insulation, and more energy savings. Choose based on your climate needs and budget.
Single Cell
R-2 to R-3One layer of honeycomb cells. Lightweight, affordable, and effective for moderate insulation. Ideal for mild climates and rooms where maximum insulation isn't critical.
Double Cell
R-4 to R-5Two layers of honeycomb cells stacked for superior insulation. Traps more air, blocks more heat transfer, and provides better sound dampening. The premium choice for Idaho's hot summers and cold winters.
Built for Idaho's Climate
Heat Loss Reduction
Double cell honeycomb shades can reduce heat loss through windows by up to 40% in Idaho winters.
Solar Heat Blocked
Room darkening cellular shades block up to 80% of solar heat gain during Boise's hot summers.
Annual Energy Savings
Typical whole-home cellular shade installation saves $270–$540 per year on heating and cooling.
Light Control Levels
Sheer
TranslucentSoftly filters light while maintaining outward visibility. Provides minimal privacy but maximum natural light.
Light Filtering
Semi-OpaqueDiffuses sunlight for a warm ambient glow. Good daytime privacy with a bright, airy feel.
Room Darkening
OpaqueBlocks the vast majority of light for bedrooms and media rooms. Maximum privacy and insulation.
Insulate, Automate, Save
Superior Insulation
Honeycomb air pockets trap heat in winter and block solar gain in summer. Reduce energy bills year-round.
Two Motor Options
Choose the rechargeable RF Motor or RF & Zigbee Motor. Motor choices are confirmed during your consultation.
Sound Dampening
The cellular structure absorbs sound waves, reducing outside noise and echo within the room.
