Question 1

How much do custom roller shades cost in Boise?

Accepted Answer

Custom roller shades in Boise typically range from $200 to $810+ per window depending on size, fabric, and motorization. Manual cordless roller shades start around $200–$335 per window for standard sizes. Motorized roller shades generally start around $470–$675 per window once you factor in the motor and smart home setup.

Question 2

What is the difference between light-filtering and blackout roller shades?

Accepted Answer

Light-filtering roller shades diffuse sunlight to reduce glare while maintaining a view and allowing ambient light. Blackout roller shades block 100% of light — ideal for bedrooms, nurseries, and media rooms. Boise Blinds carries both in dozens of fabric options.

Question 3

Can roller shades be motorized?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Roller shades are available with motorization. Battery-powered and hardwired options are available, and the selected motor determines available control options.

Question 4

What are solar roller shades?

Accepted Answer

Solar roller shades are made from UV-blocking mesh fabric that reduces glare and heat gain while preserving your view to the outside. They come in openness factors from 1% (maximum UV block) to 14% (maximum view). Ideal for west-facing windows in Boise where afternoon sun is intense.

Question 5

How long does roller shade installation take?

Accepted Answer

A standard roller shade installation for a single room (3–5 windows) typically takes 1–2 hours. Whole-home installations are usually completed in a single day. Boise Blinds handles all measurement, mounting, and motor programming.
